I still suck at Photoshop

It’s been a long… Time…

For the past few months, we sat around thinking about what we want to do, and how we want to do it. Well, we finally figured it out. We just launched this new site just to make it easier for us to keep writing about stuff, and to display the stuff we will do. Now, on to the good stuff…

What could this be?

Work is well underway on our newest game, OCD, which we are designing with the ultimate goal to not only be played at home, but to be played on Winnitron cabinets worldwide. Will the game be good enough to put on the Winnitron? We’re going to make every effort to make this a really fun and competitive game. More details on that game later this week.

Quantum Box has picked up a few new members, who I’ll force ask to introduce themselves to you in the near future. Together, our goal is to make some awesome games, and help to promote indie games, culture, and the people who play them, not unlike some of the work Babycastles has been doing lately.

New features of the site include:

  • A  much cleaner way of sharing anything that you find here with others on facebook and twitter. Just click on the buttons below and follow the usual steps.
  • To the right, there is an events listing. I’ve often been accused of not sharing cool stuff going on to people, so I figure I’ll put it here, in addition to broadcasting what I know through social media. Click on “See More” to read more about the upcoming event, and click on “More Events” to see a page full of all the future events we have on file.
  • Below that, we have twitter feeds from some of our members. They’ll rotate every now and then, depending on who intends on using twitter regularly. A Quantum Box twitter account is floating around, but we’re still discussing exactly how we want to use that.
  • To the top left, while we didn’t have something ready for it now (still a work in progress), we want the box to be our easter egg. Every now and then, that box will link you to something simple that’s either a cool concept or something we did while we were bored. Sometimes it will hint at projects, other times it’ll just be there…
  • Finally, there’s a shiny new look. Things should be much easier to read, and it won’t make your eyes bleed. Design thanks to Catt Small.
  • There are more features planned for the site, and we’ll roll those out as soon as they’re ready.

There are some minor issues with Internet Explorer 8, and only one with IE 9.  I’m told that IE7 has some issues, but we’re not going to put much effort in supporting it (none of us actually has a copy lying around).

But this marks only the first step of many planned new things for us. For now, our priority is finishing some games, starting with OCD.

Thanks for stopping by.
